Lecturer

Peri Frances is a cultural historian, educator, and certified interpretive guide with more than 25 years of experience leading heritage programs across the American South, West Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. A Spelman alumna and descendant of both the Kingsley Plantation in Florida and the historic Black town of Mound Bayou, Mississippi, she draws on personal lineage and archival expertise. She has developed programs for institutions including Emory University and the Morehouse Mellon Movement, and the Memory and Justice Project. She also serves on the Sun Coast Regional Council of the National Parks Conservation Association and the Tourism Alliance of the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor.
