Travel to Mexico City and Oaxaca with renowned archaeologists from Chicago’s Field Museum of Natural History, discovering ancient sites where they’ve made discoveries while experiencing art, culture, cuisine, and history.

Join Field Museum archaeologists Dr. Gary M. Feinman and Linda M. Nicholas on a special journey to Mexico City and Oaxaca. Enjoy a rare opportunity to witness archaeology in action in two ancient Oaxacan cities, Lambityeco and Mitla, where they’ve made significant discoveries. Along the way, take part in behind-the-scenes cultural experiences: Explore markets with an award-winning chef, then savor the flavors of traditional Oaxacan dishes prepared with your own hands under his guidance. Take an expert-led walking tour through Oaxaca’s UNESCO-listed historical center and the Zócalo, the city’s main square since 1529, and venture to the Museo Nacional de Antropología for an after-hours tour with the museum’s director. Discover the Museo Textil de Oaxaca led by a master weaver, and gain special access to the private hometown studio of a master ceramicist.
