Art & Architecture of Catalonia: Coast, Culture & Salvador Dalí

April 30 – May 7, 2027

Starting from

Discover Catalonia’s natural landscapes and medieval history on this cultural travel adventure.

Explore this fiercely independent region of Spain beyond the bustle of Barcelona, venturing back in time through medieval towns, ancient ruins, and seaside, mountainous landscapes. Begin in Girona, with its excellent Catalan art collection at the Girona Art Museum, visit the beautifully preserved 12th-century Arab Baths, and its medieval Jewish Quarter. Continue to the serrated mountains of Montserrat for tours of Romanesque monasteries, then proceed to the Pyrenees for alpine architecture and panoramic views.

Enjoy the scenic coast as you continue toward the Costa Brava, and visit the artists’ village of Cadaqués. Visit Portlligat, where the famous Spanish artist Salvador Dalí resided, and view his major surrealist paintings at the Dalí Theatre‑Museum in Figueres. Experience how local builders, industrial leaders, and surrealist painters shaped a once-severe environment to support a distinct culture.
