on their travel experience.

Iceland

Colloquially referred to as “the land of fire and ice,” Iceland is nicknamed for the unlikely duo of molten-lava volcanos and vast glaciers that coexist across the region. With its dark night skies and reflective waters, Iceland is a premier destination for viewing the Northern Lights. Visitors travel from far and wide to take in spectacular views of snow-capped mountains, black-sand beaches, and untouched wildlife. In Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, learn the country’s Viking heritage at the National Museum of Iceland, or admire Icelanding paintings and mixed-media exhibitions at the National Gallery of Iceland.

“I love Iceland because it looks exactly like the edge of the earth. Each mountain is more dramatic than the last, only for its beauty to play a supporting role in its inspired culture.”

A guided tour through an iconic landmark is one thing, but engaging directly with the experts, artisans, and historians who shape a place’s legacy is something else entirely. Our journeys include access to private collections, behind-the-scenes visits to historic sites, and intimate discussions with local thought leaders.

Berlin, Germany

This cosmopolitan capital city is a haven for European history and culture. In the heart of Berlin, Museum Island—or Museuminsel in German—is a cultural hub consisting of five major museums and earned UNESCO recognition in 1999. The city’s historical landmarks, including the Berlin Wall Memorial, the Brandenburg Gate, and Gendarmenmarkt Square, continue to fascinate visitors from all over the world.

“Art history is scattered throughout the city— from the baroque elegance of Charlottenburg Palace to the raw, expressive graffiti of the train stations. The cultural diversity is almost unmatched. You might start your day with a French breakfast, enjoy pho for lunch, savor carbonara for dinner, and grab a döner for a late-night snack. More than anything, Berlin is a sanctuary of self-expression. It is one of the most inclusive, open-minded cities I have encountered. There’s an undeniable sense of freedom here, whether you’re commuting to work in the morning or immersing yourself in the legendary nightlife. Berlin isn’t for everyone, but it’s a must-see for any curious traveler.”

Cuba

The island of Cuba remains a mystery to most Americans. However, learning from local experts and listening to the stories of the Cuban people can make this journey truly transformative. Old Havana, an UNESCO-listed site, has vintage cars that line the cobblestone streets, and features an eclectic mix of architectural styles, from Baroque to Art Nouveau. You’ll find museums that reveal the island’s storied past, and a plethora of art galleries and museums to choose from, including the Belles Artes.

“One of the many amazing things about Cuba, and Havana in particular, is that it’s a place captured in time. For me it’s a family connection, for others it’s the chance to see the cars of their dreams in action. Havana is home to so many well preserved styles of architecture, and Cuban culture can also give you a bit of nostalgia for the time before everyone was glued to their personal devices.”

Machu Picchu, Peru

With deep connections to the traditions of the Inca people, the hike to the topis often described as a spiritual experience. The sophisticated stonework preserved over centuries remains a symbol of their architectural ingenuity. Located in the Andes mountains, this UNESCO World Heritage Site on a mountain peak stands at an altitude of nearly 8000 feet above sea level.

“Machu Picchu remains a place that exceeded the already high expectations I had. It was awe-inspiring and life changing. It felt like being on top of the world and looking down at something so special, it takes your breath away.”
